The Isle of Capri Casino Resort, is located on the Gulf Coast in beautiful Biloxi, Mississippi. It proudly presents 767 oversized hotel rooms, 25,000 sq. ft of ballroom and meeting areas, a fitness center, outdoor pool, 5 restaurants and a 32,000 sq. ft casino with non-stop excitement. The Isle, as it is fondly called, introduced and hosted the first premier billfish tournament for the Biloxi area. Yearly the awards have grown as a multitude of big game fish have been caught by an ever increasing number of boats and anglers. In 1997 the 1st Annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic was held with cash awards of $300,000. In 1998 the cash awards were $500,000. In 1999 the awards increased to $700,000 and in the new millennium 2000 the awards increased to over $800,000. For the year 2004 the awards increased to over $ 1,000,000. Statistics show the following: 1997 - 60 boats, 1998 - 74 boats, 1999 - 85 boats, 2000 - 96 boats, 2001 - 100 boats, 2002 - 106 boats, 2003 - 110 boats and in 2004 - 106 boats! Even with tropical storm Arlene knocking at the door, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic completed the 2005 tournament with 71 boats fishing and 43 signed up for the 2006 tenth anniversary. 2006 another success story! Six Blue Marlin brought to the scales. Top Blue weighed in at 722.8 lbs with 2nd place weighing in at 666.2 lbs and 3rd place weighing in at 541.8 lbs. 72 boats fished the 2006 tenth anniversary tournament.
The boat count continued to grow as 98 fished the 2007 tournament. Biloxi is BACK and the fishing is GREAT!!.

The Isle of Capri introduced the Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic
and continues to be the major host each year. The ever growing prestigious resort hotel and the gaming excitement is certainly an attraction for all of the sportsfishermen and ladies. However, the friendliness and "home away from home" atmosphere promoted by the staff's attention to individual needs with their detail oriented superb attitude towards all guests, are some of the major reasons the Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic will continue to grow.
